24th November 2006 Kite surfing: Camber Sands Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: 20-25kts Surf / Sea State: Wavey Air Temperature: 11 Sea Temperature: Not too cold Weather: Sun, cloud Max Speed: Distance Covered: Up at 6 this morning to catch the early low tide... crikey, I'm getting as bad as Justal! What amazed me was that I got to the beach at 0730, just after first light, and I was the last of 6 to arrive! Was really pleased it was blowing well enough for the 8m as that's correctly set up and is a REALLY sweet kite, I love it! As everyone was already out I fannied around trying to work out how to self-launch the thing, but luckily someone came in just to help me launch. Nice people, kitesurfers! Had a great hour and a half whizzing up and down. I'm already thinking my board's a little on the big side for waves... Trying desperately to cut upwind... a long way to go and a lot to learn, but I'm hardly having to walk anywhere any more, and that's terrific! But boy are my legs aching! All ended too soon as the flippin van had to go in for a service... but at least I got out. :-) |
